President's Message: February
Thank you for the warm welcome to Presidency of the UCNH Chamber of Commerce. Your caring and supportive words throughout January have confirmed for me that taking on this role was a perfect decision.
The tagline of the Chamber is "Where Business and Community Thrive". Over the past 30 days, I can certainly attest that this statement could be no truer than it is today. We have seen our membership numbers steadily increase. I would like to thank the businesses that joined the Chamber in the past month. These are businesses that are for the first time learning how valuable the Chamber can be to their success in our community.
We look forward to working with each new member and renewing members to make North Hollywood/Universal City the best that it can be. I want to personally thank Best Friends Animal Hospital, David Benson Consulting, Laemmle NoHo 7, and METAL Law Group for working with me in the past 30 days. Also, I want to welcome Le Petit Chateau back to our group after so many years of support. To those I did not mention, I am looking forward to working with you in 2012 and to hearing all of your celebrations and concerns that affect your business and our community.
Throughout January I had the pleasure of meeting with many of our government representatives as well as many of the businesses that depend on the Chamber of Commerce. We strive to be an accurate and articulate voice for all of you. But we need your help! We encourage you to call our office and to speak with Michelle Gilstrap about Governmental issues that affect you in North Hollywood and Universal City. We want to understand the pulse of our community and we need your support in this effort.
Each year, we have an opportunity as a Chamber of Commerce to nominate businesses to be a recipient of the United Chambers of Commerce award for excellent business. This year, we are very proud to recognize the great work that NBCUniversal has done in our community at large. The awards lunch was well attended and the Universal City/North Hollywood Chamber was proud to have a table in support of our winning member.
